DUYGU İLKHAN SÖYLEMEZ

Türklerin kuş sevgisi sonucunda ortaya çıkmış olan kuş evleri genellikle leylek, güvercin, kumru gibi büyük kuşlar için olmayıp, saka, serçe, kırlangıç gibi korunmaya muhtaç küçük cüsseli kuşlar için yapılmış barınaklardır. Osmanlı dönemi bu tür yapılar için oldukça zengin olup, tarihi çok eskilere kadar dayanmaktadır. Osmanlı döneminde sadece camilerde değil aynı zamanda medrese, imaret, kışla, han, türbe, kütüphane, köprü, mektep ve ev gibi binaların dış yüzüne kimsenin erişemeyeceği kadar yüksek kesimlere yapılmıştır. Kuş evleri, kuş köşkü, serçe saray gibi isimlerle de anılmaktadır. Pek çok türde yapılan kuş evleri özellikle Osmanlı geç dönemde adeta mücevher gibi işlendiği görülmektedir. Ayazma ve Selimiye Camileri geç dönemin özelliklerini bünyesinde barındıran yapılar olmasının yanı sıra cephelerinde bulunana adeta saray şeklinde yapılmış kuş evleri ile de anılmaktadır.

The bird houses that emerged as a result of the love of the birds of the Turks are not usually for big birds such as storks, pigeons, doves, but also for small birds in need of protection such as goldfinch, sparrows and swallows. The Ottoman period is quite rich for such buildings and its history dates back to ancient times. During the Ottoman period, not only mosques, but also madrasah, imaret, barracks, inns, tombs, libraries, bridges, schools and houses, such as the outside of the buildings on the outside of anyone can not be reached. Bird houses, bird lodge, sparrow palace is also known by such names. Bird houses built in many species, especially in the late Ottoman period, seem to be processed like jewellery. Ayazma and Selimiye Mosques are not only the buildings that contain the characteristics of the late period, but they are also referred to as bird houses built in palace form.
