Focus and Scope

The Journal of Current Researches on Social Science (JoCReSS) aims to provide a research resource for all practitioners, policy makers, professionals and researchers working in the social sciences. The editorial board of JoCReSS invites all articles covering theoretical and/or applied research on topics of interest to the journal.

Publishing Frequency

JoCReSS is a peer-reviewed, quarterly and open access online journal. The journal publishes at least four issues per year.

Publication Language

The publication languages ​​of the skin are English and Turkish. In addition, special issues can be publishing in different languages.

Evaluation process

Blind refereeing method is used during the evaluation period. Blind peer-review is a method applied to publish scientific publications with the highest quality. This method forms the basis of the objective evaluation process of scientific studies and is preferred by many scientific journals. All articles submitted within the scope of JoCReSS are evaluated by blinding according to the following stages.

  • Blind Refereeing: In the evaluation process of all articles, double-blind refereeing method is used. In the double-blind referee method, the identities of the authors and referees of the studies are hidden.
  • Initial Evaluation Process: Submitted articles are first evaluated by the editors. At this stage, studies that do not comply with the purpose and scope of the journal, are weak in terms of language and expression rules, contain scientifically critical errors, have no original value, and do not meet the publication policies are rejected. The articles found suitable are sent to two referees for their evaluation.
  • Referee Process: Referees are assigned to each article according to the content of the articles and the areas of expertise of the referees. The referees have to guarantee that they will not share any process and document about the studies they evaluate. The referees are given one week to evaluate the article. The evaluation period of a referee is extended three times at most. If the referees do not respond within the given time, a new referee is assigned to the relevant article. Correction suggestions from referees or editors must be completed by the authors within one week in line with the "correction report". Referees can examine the corrections of a study and decide whether it is appropriate or request a revision if necessary.
  • Referee Reports: Referee evaluations generally include; It is based on originality, method used, compliance with ethical rules, consistent presentation of findings and results, and review of the literature.
  • Layout, Typesetting and Design Processes: It requires a uniform and complete page layout and printing format in accordance with the formal integrity, readability and standards of the articles in the journal. Financial responsibility for the preparation of the page layout belongs to the author(s). The journal secretariat handles the final correction and preparation of the articles for publication.
  • Assigning the DOI Number: The Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is a unique accession number that allows each work published electronically to be identified and accessed. It is obligatory to give a DOI number for every article published in our journal. After the acceptance stage, the articles whose print version is prepared are given a DOI number by the editorial board.

Plagiarism/Similarity Policy

Each article sent to the journal for publication must be checked by the author(s) for plagiarism/similarity before being included in the evaluation process, and plagiarism reports must be uploaded to the system. It is recommended to use “iThenticate” or “Turnitin” programs to determine the plagiarism/similarity rate. After the bibliography and citations are removed, the articles with a plagiarism/similarity rate above 20% are returned to their authors for necessary corrections without being evaluated.

Open Access and CC License

JoCReSS is within the scope of “Budapest Open Access Movement (BOAI)” (http://www.budapestopenaccessinitiative.org/list_signatures) as per “Open Access”. According to BOAI, Open Access (Budapest Open Access Initiative), peer-reviewed scientific studies through the internet; can be freely accessed, read, downloaded, copied, distributed, printed, scanned, linked to full texts, indexed, transferred as data to software and used for any legal purpose without financial, legal or technical barriers. The authors and copyright holders agree that all users have access to it free of charge. Authors whose articles are accepted are deemed to have accepted the sharing of the information in their works by reference in order to protect the copyright and to protect the rights of the journal under the Creative Commons Attribution License. Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial 4.0 International Licence (CC BY-NC 4.0) for all articles that JoCReSS will publish.
