Müze ve Sergileme Alanlarında Aydınlatma Sorunları ve Çözüm Önerileri

Museums as the places that present the social and cultural memory of societies, the correct presentation is as important as the preservation of the artifacts. In this context, the correct perception of the works by the users, the visual comfort in the space and the presentation of the objects without any damage make correct lighting an indispensable element. The effect of lighting in this sense plays an important role in the expressions of physiological, perceptual and meaning functions. In this study, the illumination of artifacts exhibited in museums and their relations with users will be examined in terms of object-user relations, perception and meaning, and lighting problems and suggestions on these issues will be discussed. In this context, Ankara Anatolian Civilizations Museum and Antakya Museums will be considered as examples. Both quantitative and qualitative aspects of the lighting designs of the museums will be evaluated, and the lighting design criteria will be analyzed by observing the physiological, psychological and experiential components between the user and the space. As the result of study, the exhibited works, perception relationship of the user with the object and space and the atmosphere of the place will be evaluated according to the lighting criteria. Along with these evaluations, problems regarding the types of lighting used in museums and exhibition areas and their application criteria will emerge, and solution proposals will develop. In order to form the basis of the research, lighting criteria will be discussed and then two archeology museums from Turkey will be examined in the light of these criteria. Artifacts and exhibition units in the exhibition areas of both sample buildings will be analyzed and errors that cause misconceptions will be detected. In the conclusion part, suggestions will be made to improve the object-illumination properties of two examples. In addition to the literature research, which is a qualitative research method, , the field research method will be used, and the solution proposals in the conclusion section will be presented as a table.
