EXAMINATION OF VOCATIONAL PERSONALITY TYPES OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN TERMS OF DIFFERENT VARIABLES

People need to make important decisions about their lives, and one of the most important of these decisions is the decision about the choice of profession. Some criteria are the basis for this decision process to be carried out in a healthy way. At the beginning of the basic criteria is the awareness of the individual's characteristics, and therefore, fulfilling the choice of an appropriate profession. In our country, a part of the career selection process involves the students at the secondary school level being aware of their own characteristics and then choosing educational environments suitable for these characteristics. In this context, it is aimed to examine the occupational personality types of secondary school students in terms of different variables. A survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used to examine the vocational personality types of secondary school students according to gender, registered school type, grade level of education, and registration in science and art centers. The sample of the study consists of 1331 secondary school students who responded to the "Occupational Personality Types Inventory (MKTE)" online. As a result of the research, although the first two occupational types are the same according to the gender variable, the third occupational personality type is traditional for male students and the artist type for female students; that the first professional personality type is the same at all grade levels; It has been seen that the second and third occupational personality types rankings of students who are registered and not registered in science and art centers are the opposite of each other. It is thought that determining the occupational personality types of secondary school students in terms of different variables will shed light on the educational activities carried out on the career selection process.

İnsanların yaşamlarına dair önemli kararlar vermeleri gerekir ki bu kararlar içerisinde en önemli olanlardan biri de kişinin meslek seçimine dair kararıdır. Bu karar sürecinin sağlıklı bir şekilde gerçekleştirilebilmesi için bazı kriterler temel oluşturmaktadır. Temelde yer alan kriterlerin başında da bireyin özelliklerine ilişkin farkındalığının olması, dolasıyla da uygun bir meslek seçimini yerine getirmesidir. Ülkemizde meslek seçim sürecinin bir bölümünde ortaokul seviyesindeki öğrencilerin kendi özelliklerini fark etmeleri ve sonrasında bu özelliklere uygun eğitim ortamlarını seçmeleri yer almaktadır. Bu kapsamda araştırma ile ortaokul öğrencilerinin mesleki kişilik tiplerinin farklı değişkenler açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Ortaokul öğrencilerinin mesleki kişilik tiplerinin cinsiyet, kayıtlı olunan okul türü, eğitim görülen sınıf düzeyi, bilim ve sanat merkezlerine kayıtlı olma durumlarına göre incelenmesi için nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini çevrim içi ortamda “Mesleki Kişilik Tipleri Envanteri (MKTE)”ye yanıt veren 1331 ortaokul öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda cinsiyet değişkenine göre ilk iki sıradaki mesleki tipler aynı olsa da üçüncü sıradaki mesleki kişilik tipinin erkek öğrenciler için geleneksel, kız öğrenciler için ise sanatçı tip olduğu; tüm sınıf düzeylerinde birinci mesleki kişilik tipinin aynı olduğu; bilim ve sanat merkezlerine kayıtlı olan ile kayıtlı olmayan öğrencilerin iki ve üçüncü sırada yer alan mesleki kişilik tipleri sıralamalarının birbirinin tam tersi olduğu görülmüştür. Ortaokul öğrencilerinin farklı değişkenler açısından mesleki kişilik tiplerinin belirlenmesinin meslek seçim sürecine dair yürütülen eğitim faaliyetlerine ışık tutacağı düşünülmektedir.
