Ekonomi Toplum İlişkisi: 1929 Dünya Ekonomik Bunalımı Örneği

1929 yılında başlayan ekonomik bunalım Avrupa dâhil olmak üzere birçok ülkeyi etkisi altına aldı. Türkiye’de bu buhrandan etkilendi. Devletin aldığı ilk tedbirlerden biri ithalatın sınırlandırılması olurken koruyucu ve devletçi ekonomik modele geçti. Ülke içinde üretilen mamullerin yurtiçi tüketiminin arttırılması, yastık altı paraların ekonomiye kazandırılması ve tasarruf fikrinin geliştirilmesi için Milli İktisat ve Tasarruf Cemiyeti ile İş Bankası bu dönemde çalışmalar yaptı. Ekonomik bunalımla birlikte halkın alım gücü düştü. Bu durum hem tefecilik faaliyetlerinin hem de hırsızlık olaylarının artmasına neden oldu. Ayrıca ucuz ama hileli mal satışının artması halk sağlığını tehdit etmeye başladı. Bu makalenin amacı ekonomik bunalımın sosyal hayata etkilerini ve tasarruf düşüncesinin halk için ne anlama geldiğini ortaya koymaktır.

The economic crisis that began in 1929 affected many countries, including Europe. This was affected by the crisis in Turkey. One of the first measures the state has taken is to restrict imports, while conservative and statist economic models have passed. The National Economy and Savings Association and İşbank worked on this period to increase the domestic consumption of the products produced in the country, to make the economy of the pillow economy and to develop the idea of saving. With economic depression, the purchasing power of the people has fallen. This situation led to an increase in both the usury activities and theft cases. In addition, the increase in sales of cheap but fraudulent goods has started to threaten public health. The purpose of this article is to show the effect of the economic crisis on social life and what the idea of saving means to the public.
