An Assessment of Financial Literacy of Bank Customers

In today's social and economic conditions, financial literacy has become one of the new and interesting concepts that are being emphasized. Changes in socio-economic structure, problems in income distribution, imbalances in the level of regional development, increase in rural to urban migration rates and many more such reasons are the processes of change that emphasize the importance of financial literacy. Considering that individuals, society and enterprises are actors in the economy, financial literacy becomes extremely important in order for economic decisions to be taken correctly and in a healthy manner and to create a sustainable economy. The aim of this study is to examine the components of financial literacy in terms of basic demographic factors. For this purpose, the relationship between gender and education of the bank's customers mainly in the financial system and the financial literacy components will be evaluated. In the research conducted within the scope of the study, quantitative method has been applied and survey technique has been used as data collection technique. The survey was based on the OECD / INFE core survey.
